Bilyana Raeva: It is a normal procedure for the EC to cease partially the financing under PHARE

Darik News
It is a normal procedure for the European Commission to cease partially the financing under PHARE, if suspicions for corruption exist, said in Shumen the Member of the European Parliament Bilyana Raeva. She emphasized on the fact, that this program is financed through the money of the European taxpayers and there exist strict mechanisms of control on the spending of the funds. Bilyana Raeva added that it should be better if future payments are ceased in time, instead of repaying funding afterwards, as it has already have happened in Ireland.
Bilyana Raeva noted also, that on March 4th the Mogilino film is going to be shown in the European Parliament. The initiative belongs to the non-attached Member of the European Parliament Kathy Sinnott. Concerning the showing of the film, Bilyana Raeva said, that she and her colleagues suggested that the Parliament should propose to the European Commission to organize a system to monitor over all the underprivileged children homes in EU. An idea like this could be put into practice in case it has been supported by at least 400 members of the European Parliament, specified Raeva.
